The Muskegon Community College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in their second meet of the season on Saturday at Calvin College.

Both teams opted to compete in the larger division, against tougher teams, to challenge themselves.

The Jayhawk women finished 22nd out of 30 teams. Grace Sweet was the top MCC runner, finishing with a time of 25:26, the second fastest 6K time in MCC history. Raagan Lockhart turned in a time of 25:41, the eighth best time in school history. Maddy Windberg, Cassey Deaters and Kendra Johnson rounded out the scorers for MCC.

The men’s team did not post a team score because it was unable to have five runners finish. But Ben Schmidt had a good meet with a time of 27:08. Other finishers for the Jayhawks were Zach Ostoin, Parker Reynolds and Simon Johnson.
