The Muskegon Community College women’s basketball squad picked up a non-conference victory on the road over Schoolcraft College 51-41 on Friday night. 

The Jayhawks jumped out to a 14-9 at the end of the first quarter.

The Ocelots trimmed the lead, outscoring the Jayhawks 14-13 in the second quarter, making the score 27-23 at the end of the half. The Jayhawks regained the momentum after the halftime break, taking a 39-29 lead.

Julia Tierman paced the Jayhawks with 13 points. Kacy Jeffries scored 11, while Nia Miskel recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Jayhawks improved to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
