The Fremont boys basketball team played extremely hard but lost in a heartbreaker on Friday, falling 62-60 to Big Rapids in overtime.

Down by three with only three seconds left in regulation, the Packers’ Blake Hanshue drained a last second 3-pointer to send the game into overtime.

The Packers jumped out to a quick four point lead in OT but lost their momentum after leading scorer Jordon McDonald fouled out.

McDonald ended the night for Fremont by racking up 23 points and three steals while Gavin Richards grabbed eight rebounds and scored six points.

Fremont drops to 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in CSAA action and will play again on Tuesday when they play host to Whitehall.
