WHITE CLOUD–After struggling to register any points in the opening quarter, the North Muskegon girls basketball team fell in a low-scoring affair to White Cloud losing 34-21 on Tuesday evening.

Facing an 8-0 shutout in the first quarter the Norse knew they had to regroup and reassess their game plan and came out into the second quarter with improved production at the basket putting up 13 points while their defense held White Cloud to eight points to trail by three at the half, 16-13.

The Norse failed to recreate the success they found in the second stanza as they again fell further behind being outscored 11-6 in the third quarter and found themselves trailing 27-19 as the third quarter came to a close.

Continuing to be overwhelmed, the Norse only managed two points in the final quarter to seal their fate on the night.

Leading the Norse in scoring was Francine Vinson who mustered up five points in the loss.

Gaby Reeve led White Cloud with 12 points.

North Muskegon slumps to 2-15 and is a winless 0-12 in the WMC. The Norse will travel to Oakridge on Thursday to take on the Eagles.
