COOPERSVILLE – The Fruitport girls soccer team maintained a perfect 3-0 record after a 1-0 win over Coopersville in their O-K Blue Conference opener on Wednesday evening.
Mallory Smith put the Trojans on the board late into the first half, while the defensive line dug in to hold the Broncos scoreless.
The defensive unit of Haiden Wilburn, Blythe Jonassen, Kayla Kolberg, Josalyn Baldwin, Lauren Riedel and Kenzie Pate were critical in fending off Coopersivlle.
Fruitport’s Riley Kettel posted the shutout in the net with 14 saves.
Fruitport will next play host to Mona Shores on Saturday afternoon.
