Addison and Emma Gillard strike out 10 toss a combined four-hitter as Ravenna gets by Kent City 3-2

MONTAGUE — Ravenna’s girls softball team turned back Kent City, 3-2 in a pre-district game played in Montague on Tuesday afternoon.

Emma Gillard started in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Bulldogs and threw the first four innings, giving up two unearned runs on two hits and struck out six.

Addison Gillard relieved Emma in the fifth inning and earned the win, giving up two hits and striking out four.

Leading hitters for the Lady Bulldogs included Emma Herremans who had a triple in three trips to the plate. Kara Postema contributed a double, as did Addison Gillard.

Emma Gillard and Amelia Porter each had a hit.

Ravenna advances to play North Muskegon in the district on Saturday.
