SPRING LAKE–Spring Lake lacrosse player Peyton Parsons has signed her national letter of intent to play at Kalamazoo College this fall.

Parsons has been a standout defender for the Lakers the past 4 years. During her career, Spring Lake has accumulated a 38-13 record.

This year, Parsons has forced 10 turnovers and collected 13 ground balls while leading a defense that allows less than nine goals per game.

Peyton is a phenomenal student athlete,” said Lake coach Erika Kurili. “She has a fire not many other athletes have. She is often the defender we place on quick and solid attackers from opponents.”

Her intensity on the field sets her apart from most others.

She has a lot of intensity that she is able to push into her play,” Kurili said. “She may not have the most stats, but that is due to her tenacity and ability to deter players from the cage. She has a huge presence on the defensive end.”

Kalamazoo College is an NCAA Division III school in the MIAA conference with schools like Olivet, Hope, and Calvin. They finished this past season with an 8-9 record.

Parsons has a 3.75 GPA at Spring Lake. She is considering pre-law as a major.

Parsons is the daughter of David and Kimberly Parsons.
