GRAND RAPIDS –The Spring Lake boys soccer team fell short in its season opener with a 2-1 loss against East Grand Rapids on Wednesday night.
The game was deadlocked at 1-all until East Grand Rapids netted the go-ahead late in the second half.
Will Rudd scored the lone goal for the Lakers on an assist from Jaxson Tober.
Spring Lake (0-1) will look to bounce back as they take on Lowell for its home opener on Monday.
