HESPERIA — Ian Fox and Maddox Mosley combined for 38 points for Hesperia’s boys basketball team Monday night in a 66-59 non-conference victory over visiting Mason County Eastern.  

Fox poured in 20 points and Mosley finished with 18 for the Panthers to snap a four-game losing streak.  

The Cardinals have lost five consecutive games.  

“I’m really proud of our guys,” said Hesperia coach Andrew Worcester. “They were able to take tonight’s game and improve on our deficiencies.  

“Ian Fox and Maddox Mosley had a great game offensively. Overall, I felt our team improved and played together well.”  

Eastern gained an 18-15 edge on the Panthers after the first eight minutes, but the Panthers responded with a 17-12 advantage in the second which lifted them into a 32-30 lead at the half.  

Hesperia outscored the Cardinals, 15-12 in the third quarter and opened the fourth with a 47-42 advantage. The Panthers outscored Eastern, 19-17 in the final eight minutes.  

Clayton Shoup did the majority of the Cardinals scoring, pouring in an incredible 45 points.  

The Panthers (3-9, 1-5) is scheduled to host Belding in a non-conference game Tuesday, Jan. 31.  

Eastern (1-9, 1-6) continue conference play Wednesday night by hosting Manistee Catholic Central.
