MONTAGUE — The host Wildcats built a double-digit lead by halftime and cruised to a 66-44 boys’ basketball victory over Western Michigan Christian.

Montague led 17-13 after one quarter and built that to 38-19 by the half. The Wildcats outscored the Warriors 30-25 in the second half.

Braeden Johnston led three Wildcats in double figures with 16 points. Isaiah Atchison added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Owen Petersen scored 10 points.

Rodney Brassfield had six rebounds and Hunter Osborne had four steals for the Wildcats.

Montague hosts Manistee on Tuesday.

Western Michigan Christian travels to Muskegon Catholic on Friday night.
