HOLTON — The Holton Red Devils took care of business on Thursday with a doubleheader softball sweep of the Montague Wildcats.

The Red Devils won the opener, 17-1, and the nightcap, 12-4.

In the first game, winning pitcher Abbie Fowler, Kenzie Greene and Ryann Robins each had three hits. Robins knocked in four runs and Greene knocked in three. Grace Thompson had two hits, including a triple and a double, and three RBI. Aubrey Goyings had two hits and two RBI.

In the second game, Fowler, Greene and Sydney McCormick each had three hits. McCormick knocked in three runs. Goyings had two hits, one a double, and Lexi Bartolameolli had two singles.

Greene was the winning pitcher. She struck out eight in seven innings of work.

Montague was led by Alissa Wynn and Hayden Boutell with three hits each. Both had a double. Kennedy Johnson had two hits, one a double.
