Hart volleyball takes down Carson City-Crystal in five sets

CARSON CITY – Hart’s volleyball team made the long trek to Carson City on Monday and came out on top of the Eagles in five sets, 3-2.

The Pirates rallied back from a 25-15 loss in the first set to even things up in a close second set, 25-21. The third set once again fell into the hands of Carson City-Crystal, but Hart took two straight to come away victorious.

Leading the way for the Pirates were Abby Hicks (10 kills, 7 digs, 3 aces) and Kelsey Copenhaver (12 assists, 9 digs, 8 kills, 4 aces).  Maryn Klotz chipped in 9 assists as well, while Reese Smith tallied 9 kills and 5 digs.

Hart will return home for a matchup with Orchard View Tuesday, Sept. 5.
