STANWOOD – The Ludington Orioles captured a Division 3 regional golf title on Tuesday with a seven-stroke victory over runner-up Chippewa Hills.

Emma McKinley was the individual medalist for the Orioles with a 77. Ludington finished at 384, followed by Chippewa Hills at 391 and Whitehall was third at 392. All three teams advance to the state finals Oct. 20-21 at The Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley  State University.

Other local teams included Montague in fourth place (394), Fremont in seventh (437), North Muskegon in eighth (465), Newaygo in 10th (475), Oakridge in 12th (503) and Grant in 13th (536).

Grant’s Nadia Zerlaut qualified for state as an individual after finishing her round with a 91.
