MONTAGUE – The Montague boys basketball team outpaced Newaygo on Tuesday, 68-48.

Both teams opened the first quarter close before the Wildcats outscored the Lions by 12 points in the second quarter to pull ahead and not turn back.

Paul Olson led the Wildcats with 17 points and Isaiah Atchison scored 15 points. Owen Raeth chipped in 13 points and Kellan Francis had 11 points.

The Lions’ Caris Nelson recorded 12 points, while Josiah Long and Logan Klomp had 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Montague (2-1) will travel to Orchard View on Friday.

Newaygo (2-2) will host Central Montcalm for a CSAA Conference game on Friday.
