GRANDVILLE – The Spring Lake boys basketball dropped a 58-40 decision against an athletic and towering Grandville Bulldog team on Tuesday.
The Lakers fell behind when Grandville canned nine 3-point baskets in the first half. Grandville scored the game’s first 15 points and led 18-5 after the opening quarter. The score was 37-16 at the half.
It was a battle of bodies as the Grandville lineup centers around 6-9 GVSU commit Cameron Regnerus, along with two players at 6-6 and one at 6-4.
Zach Schlepp led the Lakers with 12 points and Ethan Lisman earned nine hard-fought points battling the center all night. Eli Morrison added nine points and Colin Burt scored seven points.
Spring Lake (2-2, 0-1) will be at home against Grand Haven on Friday.
