HESPERIA – The North Muskegon softball team cruised to a sweeping victory against Hesperia in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

The Norse shut out the Panthers, 16-0, in the opening game.

Madison Balon struck out 14 batters and gave up three walks, no hits and no runs.

Baila Lang had three hits, while Balon, Mattie Houseman and Audrey Brown each recorded multiple hits.

Freshman pitcher Braedi Baker threw her first perfect game to help propel the Norse to a 17-0 win in the nightcap.

Baker struck out seven batters in three innings.

Brown tallied a home run for the Norse, while Balon, Houseman, Baker and Mila Van Tol each earned two runs.

North Muskegon (3-1) will travel to Ludington on Thursday.
