KENT CITY – The Kent City softball team bounced back from an opening loss to split a doubleheader against Morley-Stanwood in CSAA play on Friday.

The Eagles fell in the opener, 9-7, and roared to a 19-4 victory in the second game.

In the first game, Kent City’s Lylah Larson gave up nine hits, seven runs, two walks and struck out seven batters.

Hannah Stellini had three hits and three RBI, while Laynee Hoffman added two hits, scored three runs and had an RBI. Brooklyn Skrabis had one hit and scored two runs.

The Eagles kicked it into gear in the nightcap and blew past Morley Stanwood in the second game.

Cailynn Hartzell allowed four hits, four runs, three walks and struck out three.

Hoffman had two hits and scored four runs, while Hartzell threw in two hits, two runs and two RBI. Stellini had one hits, scored four runs and three RBI. Milah Mollien had two runs scored and an RBI. Kenzie Freeland scored two runs.

Kent City will travel to Howard City Tri-County on Tuesday for a conference doubleheader.
