The Western Michigan Christian Warrior girls’ soccer team racked up eight goals in their conference opener against Potter’s House.

The Warriors captured an 8-0 victory.

WM Christian led 2-0 at the half, on the strength of goals from Nora Pollock. The second half was much more productive for the Warriors, who scored six more goals. Pollock popped in two more and finished the game with four goals. Hallie Lindale, Kirsten Van Orman, Emersyn Paling and Elaina Clapp each tallied a single goal. Abigail Derdowski and Clapp combined for the shutout with a total of four saves.

“It took us a bit to get settled into the game, we didn’t play to our standards in the first half,” said WMC coach Jared McFarland. “After a team talk at half, we reset our objectives for the match and really hit our stride in the second half and played much better.”
