WHITEHALL – The Whitehall softball team had a tough outing with a 0-2 finish at the Lakeshore Slam on Saturday.

The Vikings fell in the opener to Zeeland East, 13-11, and 27-0 to Wayland in the second game.

Bella Fogus gave up six hits, five runs and had two strikeouts from the mound. Alison Schaeffer gave up eight runs.

At the plate, Fogus had two hits, three runs and an RBI. Annabel Kevwitch had three hits and three RBI, while Evelyn Dark added two hits and four RBI.

Game 2 was a tough one for the Vikings.

Fogus gave up six hits and 12 runs, while Jersie Peterson allowed two hits and three runs. Darke struck out one, but gave up four hits and seven runs.

Taylor Ottinger and Kevwitch each had a hit. 

Whitehall will be at home for a doubleheader against Oakridge on Tuesday.
