HAMILTON – The Spring Lakers brought out the big bats on Wednesday and swept Hamilton in an OK-Blue baseball doubleheader.

The Lakers amassed 22 hits, 11 in each game, and won 14-3 and 10-0.

In the opener, Spring Lake scored four runs in the top of the first inning, and by the fifth inning, had a 10-2 lead. Zach Schlepp led the hitting parade with three hits. Gabe Trask added two hits. Oliver Smies had a pair of hits and two RBI. Alex Batka had two RBI and Owen Smies belted a solo home run in the fourth inning.
 
Maddux Kipling (8-3) was the winning pitcher. He struck out eight in five innings of work.
 
The nightcap was much of the same for Spring Lake, which needed five innings to finish off the game.
 
The Lakers led 7-0 after two innings and cruised to the victory. Will May led the offense with three hits and two RBI. Schlepp had two hits and three RBI. Jaden Core had two hits and scored twice. Batka added two hits and a pair of RBI.
 
May (6-2) was the winning pitcher. He tossed a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts.
 
Spring Lake (23-9, 14-7) will host Ludington in a doubleheader on Thursday.
 
Hamilton fell to 10-19, 6-15.
