It was a dismal Monday night for the Fruitport boys basketball team as they were overpowered by the Hudsonville Unity Christian Crusaders 75-40.

The Trojans were able to hang tough in the opening quarter only falling behind by four points with a score of 17-13 but were unsuccessful in stopping the ensuing run that buried the game for the Crusaders.

Unable to stifle the Crusaders attack the Trojans fell even further behind as they went into the halftime break trailing 40-23.

A chance to regroup and shift gears at the break would come up empty as the Crusader run only continued into the second half putting the game completely out of reach for the Trojans.

Bode Anspach led Fruitport with a team high 17 points, including five three-point shots, and had four assists. Andrew Spyke added 8 points and 5 rebounds while Paschal Jolman tossed in six points.

Fruitport drops to 4-3 and is winless in the O-K Blue Conference at 0-2. The Trojans are set to take the court again on Friday when they host Coopersville.
