GRAND HAVEN–The Grand Haven girls defeated Grandville on Friday night in an OK Conference-Red contest, 33-26.
The Bucs got out to a 13-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and increased their lead to 21-10 by halftime.
Grandville narrowed the Grand Haven lead to 24-20 by the end of the third period by outscoring the Bucs 10-3. Grand Haven secured the win with a 9-6 advantage during the final eight minutes.
Emersen Berndt led all scorers with 16 points, including five shots from beyond the arc. She also had 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Heidi Berkey had seven points and three assists. Maddie Schopf had nine rebounds. Grace Harrison had three assists and Gillian Sorrelle had three steals.
Grand Haven (12-7, 7-5) will host Hudsonville on Tuesday for Senior Night.
