MUSKEGON — The Oakridge Eagles scored seven runs in the third inning and cruised to a 9-3 baseball victory over the Whitehall Vikings on Wednesday.

The second game of the twinbill was postponed due to weather.

Brody Jennings posted the complete-game victory on the mound for Oakridge. He allowed seven hits, two earned runs and one walk. He struck out three.

The scoring started in the third inning when Whitehall’s Kyle Stratton blasted a home run for a 1-0 Viking lead. However, the Eagles’ response was a big seven-run third inning.

Stratton finished with two hits and scored two runs. Ryne Christensen added an RBI-double and Ryan Goodrich also scored a run for Whitehall.

Oakridge, which finished with 11 hits, was led by Matt Danicek, Arturo Romero-Serrano, Brody Jennings and Gage Lowry with two hits each.  Danicek and Evan Miller each had two RBI.

The nightcap of the twinbill will be make up at a future date which has yet to be determined.

Oakridge is now 4-3, 3-0.
