The Reeths-Puffer girls basketball squad’s solid second half led to a 38-33 win over Mona Shores on Friday night in an O-K Green Conference showdown.

The Rockets led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter, but trailed 18-13 at halftime after the Sailors went on a 9-2 second-quarter run.

Reeths-Puffer finished the game strong, outscoring the Sailors 12-5 during the third quarter to take a 25-23 advantage heading into the fourth quarter before closing the game on a 13-10 run during the final period.

Brooklyn Tornes paced the Rockets with 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Irelyn Nicklash chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Sailors were led by Laynie Russell with 12 points while Khaleeya Cook and Logan Clausen each scored six.
