Local Sports Journal Fremont Providence Christian advanced to the Class D district championship game with a 40-28 win over Algoma Christian on Wednesday night. The Storm advance to Friday’s 7:30 p.m. championship at Muskegon Catholic game where they will play the host Crusaders, which beat West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science 52-2 in the other semifinal on Wednesday night. Local Sports Journal Fremont Providence Christian built up a double-digit lead after three quarters and went on to a 60-52 victory over Zion Christian on Thursday night. C.J. Miller led the Storm with 13 points, followed by Daniel Geeting with 12 and Mahlon Volz with 11. Providence led 49-33 after three quarters.  

Local Sports Journal Fremont Providence Christian only trailed by a point after one quarter before losing to Zion Christian 32-20 on Thursday night. The Storm trailed 6-5 after one quarter and 15-9 at halftime. Brianna DeKryger led PC with nine points, six steals and five blocks.

Local Sports Journal Potter’s House was in control throughout and beat visiting Providence Christian 72-39 on Friday night. Potter’s House led 21-4 after one quarter and 45-15 at the half. Daniel Geeting led Providence Christian with 16 points

Local Sports Journal Daniel Geeting scored 15 points and C.J. Miller added 12 as Providence Christian dropped a 61-46 decision to Holland Calvary. Holland Calvary pulled away with a 21-8 scoring advantage in the third quarter.

Local Sports Journal The Fremont Providence Christian Storm received 47 combined points from three players on Tuesday night and defeated Hesperia 53-52 in boys basketball action. Daniel Geeting led the way with 24 points, followed by C.J. Miller with 12 points and Mahlon Volz with 11 points and seven rebounds. Joe McKeown led Hesperia with 18 points while Alex Prado and Brett Salisbury each added 15.

Local Sports Journal Providence Christian used balanced scoring to rout Grattan Academy 53-23 on Monday. Daniel Geeting led the Storm with 16 points while Mahlon Volz and CJ Miller scored 11 each. Providence led 31-11 at the half and held Grattan to no points in the fourth quarter.  

Local Sports Journal Muskegon Heights Academy grabbed the lead late in  Thursday night’s game and hung on for a 37-35 victory over the Fremont Providence Christian Storm. Joslyn Fox led Muskegon Height Academy with 13 points. Brianna DeKryger led the Storm with 17 points and 15 rebounds. The Storm were plagued by 27 turnovers.

Local Sports Journal Fremont Providence Christian held Big Rapids Crossroads Academy scoreless in the second quarter taking a 41-31 win on Friday.
